Yo-yo Yo-yo

Commissioned by Picture This in collaboration with Bath Festival Trust. Funded by the Arts Council of England.

Yo-Yo Yo-Yo was the result of an open submission opportunity advertised for artists to work in an outdoor arena in Bath. Hylton and Makoul collaborated to construct a video installation in the shape of a huge pyramid, located on Putney Bridge. Projected onto this structure were images of archival footage from Makoul’s grandfather’s explorations of South Africa interlaced with an animation of a giraffe.
