Art and Power: This River Winding

Art and Power is a membership led group of disabled artists that seeks to empower people through high quality artistic expression.

This River Winding is an experimental animated film formed from original visual art work, poetry and live action which has been combined using digital techniques. The film reflects the life journeys of a number of artists with disabilities from child to adult hood. This rich and varied animation explores the themes of kindness and spite, ignorance and understanding - "A journey that varies wherever we go, different people wherever we go, some can greet you, others turn away."

The film has been broadcast on HTV West and was shown at Bath Fringe Festival; in Strength to Strength , Spike Island, Bristol; 3 rd DFF - Lifting the Lid -The Lux Centre, London; Bristol Community Festival; Picture this... Film Festival, Calgary, Canada (Best 10-30 animation: filmmaker with a disability).
