Will Bishop-Stephens:

Pooky the Giant Shrew

Will Bishop-Stephens is a print-maker, illustrator, sculptor and animator based in Bristol. Pooky first featured as a page in Wrongboy's Book of Modern Mammals, a book of drawings produced by Will Bishop-Stephens in 1999. Supported by a 'Kicking Off' award from the Arts Council, Bishop-Stephens was offered the opportunity to make his first animation in Flash by Picture This.

Pooky the Giant Shrew is a 90 second animation about Peter Finch, a small grey man who escapes the aggressively dull and unpleasant reality of industrial haulage contraction into the more happy and simple world of Pooky, his 7ft imaginary shrew.

Exhibition:

Pooky has been shown at Sea Bat Gallery in Cardiff, LUX Open, London, Spike Island Open, Bristol, 9th Brief Encounters, Bristol and Medium Rare Cabaret, London among other places.
