Karen Brett

Karen Brett has worked with sufferers of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) over18 months and produced Conversations With Myself , a 4 screen installation that portrays sufferers of OCD weighed down by a burden of doubt they place upon them self every day of their lives. The work leads the viewer into a labyrinthine of complex identities, revealing the many facets that OCD inflicts on each sufferer in their homes.

Gloria Ojulari Sule

Gloria Ojulari Sule travelled to the Dak'Art Biennale in 2006 ; this trip was an important journey for Ojulari Sule as an artist trying to locate her own practice within national and global contemporary art networks.

In Dakar Ojulari Sule became fascinated with the traditional African costume as an art form itself. Intrigued and inspired by the special qualities and pride revealed by the wearer of Senegalese dress and interpreting this pride as personification of true cultural identity Ojulari Sule embarked on a mission to engage in the everyday activity of having a traditional costume made. Filmed in Dakar and Bristol HLM Costume documents an experience of a woman following her vision to immerse herself in the local culture and engage with the city as someone on a home coming.

Sarah Tulloch

Sarah Tulloch has worked with original 16mm film from the BBC's Natural History Unit. Sarah has reprinted the film, selecting shots of background landscape scenes from the original footage were edited according to their predominant colour; red, blue or green . The project has been funded by the RIFE Investment Fund through the UK Film Council and South West Screen and will be screened at the 37 th International Film Festival in Rotterdam in Jan/Feb 08.

Anya Lewin

Anya Lewin's Grandfather was a Polish Jew residing in Berlin in the 1920s and 1930s. He had his own dental practice, which was known for cosmetic dentistry. Lewin has used this family history as a starting point for a new film piece and developed a project that stems from her Grandfather's collection of photographs of the film stars of German cinema that he treated.
