Hannu Karjalainen

Hannu Karjalainen is a Finnish, Helsinki based artist working mainly with video and film installations.

Hannu came to Bristol in September 2005 and during his three-month residency produced a three film project. The project is based on individual, dreamlike sequences, each of which exposes a person in a slightly unreal situation. The people seem removed from the everyday, absent and beyond our reach.

The residency has been coordinated by Picture This, Spike Island and Electric Pavilion/Watershed. Funded by Arts Council of Finland, AVEK, Creative Bristol and the Finnish Institute.
