Synopsis:
As It Presents Itself - Somewhere Vague was exhibited third in a series of three exhibitions of works by different artists as part of the Recorded Live co-commissions.
As it presents itself - Somewhere Vague is a video installation that exploits the medium of plasticine animation. It is produced by Wonky Animations of Bristol.
The characters seem to be auditioning for a piano piece, but they appear to be nervous and unsure of themselves and their reason for being on stage. As viewers, we are put into the position of a spectator within a gallery, within a film and in turn with the auditorium of a theatre. Richard Briers provides the voiceover which acts as the work's narration from the perspective of the characters involved, but in hindsight - questioning the intention of the work.
