Picture
This is an organisation that draws upon its unique understanding
of moving image technology and contemporary art to produce and exhibit
new art works, publications and touring initiatives, involving a
diverse range of collaborators and audiences.
Working
in close collaboration, Picture This produces new moving image works
with artists such as Mariele Neudecker, Rosalind Nashashibi, Emily
Wardill, Erika Tan, Harold Offeh and Marcus Coates and with individuals
new to the moving image or the contemporary art world through development
schemes such as Small Wonders.
The
Atelier space based at Spike Island in Bristol opened in June 2007
to house Picture This' acclaimed commissioning programme. The Atelier
is a unique flexible space geared towards the production and exhibition
of artists moving image, education and events.
Picture
This prioritises the development of artists and audiences and the
Atelier is central to this enagement with the creative process.
The space is a production ground for resonant new art works that
reach national and international audiences through touring and a
laboratory for skills development.
Picture This receives
funding from Arts Council England, Bristol City Council, Esmée
Faribairn Foundation and support from ITV West.
