Ladies, All The Ladies DVD

An artist’s film by Lady Lucy accompanied by an essay by Lucy O’Brien. In urban music circles the use of the word ‘Lady’ is a re-occurring theme and Ladies, All The Ladies is the result of Lady Lucy’s self-imposed search to meet other ‘Ladies’.

Picture This worked with Lady Lucy to develop this project which resulted in live music events, screenings and a discussion with some of the Ladies involved in the film. Lady Lucy's film is a portrait of women MCs, DJs, producers and performers involved in Urban music; Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, Garage, Reggae, Dance Hall, R and B, House and Grime from Bristol, UK and internationally, all of whom use the prefix ‘Lady'. Featuring Diss Miss (Dutty Girl, Girl Wonder), Laydee Bird, Lady Free, Lady K & Lady Maxiumu, Lady Paradox, Lady Raz.

Produced with support from Picture This' Small Wonders development scheme, funded by The Esmee Fairbairn Foundation; Ladies, All The Ladies received funding from Arts Council England.
