Kim Coleman & Jenny Hogarth

Kim Coleman & Jenny Hogarth’s collaborative work explores the dichotomy between the artificial and the natural in various ways.

Through themes of the man-made and the natural, the choreographed and non-choreographed and on the boundary between the representational and the non-representational, their videos are presented in ways which reflect back upon their subject but also on the tools and actions involved in creating, compiling and editing them. The process of making is often part of their creative product, a praxis they frequently want the audience to become aware of.

Recent exhibitions include Associates, New York; Phillips de Pury, New York 2008; and Kim Coleman & Jenny Hogarth with the Boyle Family 2008 at the ICA, London where they set up an experiment in re-enactment which revisited the UK's first Happening.
