Sea-change residency
2011 -
Picture This , Film London Artists' Moving Image Network (FLAMIN), and Lighthouse, present Sea-change, a three month residency for London-based artists to produce new work.
Sea-change is a unique opportunity for artists to develop new moving image work in a supportive and creative environment. The residency is for artists working with the moving image who stand to benefit from a dedicated period in a focussed environment. The artist is provided with a studio within Picture This and will work with a professional production team plus production, post-production and exhibition facilities. This new work will feature in a solo exhibition at Picture This' Atelier space in early 2012. In addition, the work will be premiered in collaboration with Lighthouse at a venue in the South East.
Sea-change follows on from Picture This' successful Bristol Mean Time residency, also run in partnership with Film London Artists' Moving Image Network (FLAMIN),. Previous recipients of the residency include Rachel Reupke, Emily Wardill and Matthew Noel-Tod who all found it hugely valuable in advancing their careers and developing their practice.
Maggie Ellis, Film London's Head of Production and Talent Development said in regard to the selection of Claire Hooper for the residency: "I am so pleased we have been able to continue offering this residency - it offers artists the professional environment and support they need to reach the next step of their career and it achieves fantastic results. In Claire I believe we have found a wonderful artist with so much talent and ambition. I'd like to thank our partners Picture This and Lighthouse, without whom we simply wouldn't be able to continue offering this innovative and unique support to artist film-makers."
